Eastside Cannery Accident Leaves Man in Critical Condition
A man was left in critical condition after being hit by a car in the East Valley area of Las Vegas on Wednesday afternoon. He was transported to Sunrise Hospital to receive treatment for his injuries, said Las Vegas Metropolitan Police spokesperson Aiden Ocampo-Gomez.
The accident happened at 1:32 p.m. said Ocampo-Gomez, close to the Eastside Cannery at Boulder Highway and Harmon Avenue.
Police said in a media release a maroon-colored 1995 Chevrolet S10 was traveling northbound on Boulder Highway in the left lane. The driver was approaching East Sun Valley Drive when a 36-year-old pedestrian crossed a marked crosswalk on Boulder Highway.
The driver of the Chevrolet was a 74-year-old man, police said. He hit the man as he was crossing the street. The driver remained at the scene and did not seem impaired.
The accident is still under investigation by Las Vegas police.
