Two-Year-Old Toddler Hit by SUV, Killed at Las Vegas Park
A two-year-old boy was hit by an SUV and killed on the evening of June 7th at Las Vegas Park.
The incident was first reported at 7:40 p.m. at Douglas A. Selby Park and Trailhead in the northwest valley.
According to police, the SUV was leaving the park at the north exit ramp to Henry Drive when the small boy ran into the path of the vehicle.
The child was taken to University Medical Center where he was sadly pronounced dead. His identity has not yet been released.
The driver of the SUV, a 19-year-old Las Vegas woman, remained at the scene of the incident and showed no signs of impairment. Excessive speed was said not to be a factor.
The death marked the 59th traffic-related fatality in Metro’s jurisdiction this year.
This incident remains under investigation.
