Driver Hits Two Vehicles Parked on 215 Shoulder In Las Vegas
Nevada Highway Patrol investigated a fatal crash Monday night in the southwest valley.
According to NHP's website, the crash occurred around 8:30 p.m. on the 215 Beltway westbound at Buffalo Drive.
The incident involved three vehicles, said NHP Trooper Travis Smaka. A Cox employee was driving a van to a customer's home when he ran out of gas and pulled over. Smaka said the customer drove a Mercedes to bring gas to the Cox worker and also pulled off to the shoulder.
While the Mercedes driver was outside putting gas into the van, a silver Infinity left the roadway and entered the shoulder. The Infinity struck the Mercedes, pushing it into the van.
According to Smaka, the van's driver was not injured, and the driver of the Mercedes sustained minor injuries. The driver of the Infinity was transported to University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
The deceased driver wasn't wearing a seatbelt, said Smaka. The driver of the Mercedes was, however.
Investigators suspect impairment, Smaka said.
