Woman Dies after Hitting Palm Tree Near Las Vegas Strip
Late on Tuesday afternoon, a 34-year-old woman was killed when her car crashed into a palm tree near the Las Vegas strip.
Las Vegas Metropolitan Police reported the crash happened around 11:20 pm when the woman lost control of her blue 2003 Ford Mustang as she traveled north on Howard Hughes Parkway near East Flamingo and Paradise.
The Ford was traveling northbound on Howard Hughes when it left the road after failing to take a corner. The left side of the Ford struck the palm tree, police said.
The driver was taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center but later died from her injuries. She was identified on Wednesday afternoon by the Clark County coroner’s office as Alanna Perez. Her death was ruled an accident.
This is the sixteenth traffic-related fatality in Metro’s jurisdiction this year.
