Hit-and-run collision early Monday leaves pedestrian in critical condition
On Monday morning, Nov. 25, 2019, a hit-and-run collision on the Las Vegas strip left a pedestrian fighting for his life, while the driver is still being located.
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Department is currently investigating the incident that occurred near the Wynn Gate Drive on Las Vegas Boulevard. According to Lt. David Gordon of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Department, the pedestrian, a 52-year-old man, was escorted off the Wynn Las Vegas property for trespassing on the premises before the crash. Later the pedestrian was headed back toward the Wynn but was struck when crossing Las Vegas Boulevard.
It has been confirmed by Lt. Gordan that the vehicle involved was a dark-colored Toyota Camry that has an AutoNation plaque located on the rear.
Capt. Jason Letkiewicz stated, “The pedestrian was just outside the crosswalk and the vehicle that struck him did not stop. It continued onwards, so we’re going to need help identifying that vehicle.” The pedestrian is currently being treated at UMC.
