Pedestrian Dies near Tropicana Avenue and Koval Lane
A traffic incident put a pedestrian in the hospital with critical injuries on the early morning of November 15th .
Las Vegas Metropolitan Police responded to a report of a pedestrian being struck by a car at 1:43 a.m. near Tropicana Avenue and Koval Lane. With video footage available, police reported that a 2017 Toyota Sienna was headed eastbound on East Tropicana Avenue and Koval Lane with a green traffic light. At the same time, a group of pedestrians were crossing at the crosswalk of Tropicana heading south against the walk signal.
According to a news release, the pedestrians darted into the path of the Toyota as it reached the intersection.
One pedestrian was rushed to UMC Trauma by emergency personnel.
Police reported that the driver of the Toyota stayed on scene and showed no signs of impairment.
During the investigation there were lane closures for a few hours on Tropicana Avenue between Koval Lane and Kelch Drive.
