Driver Killed in Summerlin After Collision with Truck A two-vehicle collision in Summerlin on Thursday night leaves a 79-year-old Las Vegas man dead.  According to Las Vegas police, the collision happened around 7:30 p.m. on Thursday near North Rampart Boulevard and Tournament Hills Drive when a 2021 Chevrolet Silverado crashed into a 1991 Toyota Camry.  The collision happened when the truck, driven by a 39-year-old North Las Vegas woman, made a left turn heading south on Rampart, which struck the Camry as it was traveling northbound. The collision closed North Rampart Boulevard in both directions for several hours. The man was the only occupant of the Camry and was taken to University Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. According to Las Vegas police traffic Lt. Bret Ficklin, the woman driving the truck and her three passengers suffered injuries and were taken to Summerlin Hospital as a precaution. “Car accidents are on the rise in the Las Vegas area.
