Pedestrian Struck & Killed in Northern Las Vegas
Early Tuesday morning, a pedestrian crossing a street while using a walker was struck and killed in a hit-and-run incident in North Las Vegas.
According to Las Vegas police LT. David Gordon, the pedestrian was struck by a vehicle around 2:00 in the morning. The incident occurred at the intersection of Las Vegas and Lamb Boulevards and the vehicle that killed the 59-year-old Las Vegas resident was a black Chevy Malibu that fled the scene. The 59-year-old pedestrian died at the scene.
Las Vegas police officers later located the Chevy Malibu in the parking lot of a nearby apartment complex.
“A short time later detectives took a male suspect into custody,” said Lt. Gordon.
The driver of the vehicle was booked at the Clark County Detention Center on charges of DUI resulting in death and failure to stop at the scene of an accident.
