Friday night in Sandy Valley, a pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run crash. In a news release, Las Vegas police said the incident occurred around 9:30 pm near 1650 E Quartz Avenue. A vehicle traveling in the only westbound lane on Quartz Avenue struck a pedestrian that was walking in the westbound lane and entered the path of travel of the car. First responders declared the pedestrian dead upon arriving at the scene, however, the vehicle that struck the pedestrian fled the scene. According to witness statements and upon inspection of vehicle parts at the scene, it’s suspected that the vehicle was a 1993-1997 Toyota Corolla. Police have asked for the help of the public in order to find the vehicle, which they say will have a missing driver’s side mirror and a damaged windshield.
