Single-Vehicle Crash Kills Driver in North Las Vegas

A fatal single-vehicle crash on Saturday night is being investigated by the North Las Vegas Police Department. The incident occurred around 10:00 pm near Martin Luther King Boulevard and Brooks Avenue. Officers were dispatched to the area after a call about a single-vehicle collision. Officers with NLVPD discovered a Ford Expedition that had crashed into a tree on the west side of MLK Boulevard. Officers believe the Ford was traveling northbound on MLK Boulevard when the driver lost control of the vehicle, causing it to veer across the center median and all southbound lanes before striking a tree. Upon the arrival of medical personnel, the driver of the vehicle was pronounced dead. According to police, there were no additional occupants inside the vehicle and no there were no other vehicles involved in the crash. The investigation is still ongoing, as officers from the North Las Vegas Police Department’s Fatal Investigation Team are still investigating whether or not excessive speed or alcohol impairment were factors.       “Car accidents are on the rise in the Las Vegas area.
