Motorcyclist Struck & Killed by Sedan Failing to Yield in North Las Vegas

On Monday night, a motorcyclist was struck and killed in a crash in North Las Vegas. The incident occurred at the intersection of 5th ST and Centennial PKWY. Police responded to the incident around 7 pm. According to the North Las Vegas Police Department, the motorcyclist was struck by a Nissan Altima that was pulling out of an apartment complex. The Nissan failed to yield to the motorcyclist riding eastbound, causing the motorcycle to crash into the sedan. The NLVPD said the motorcyclist was in his 30’s and was taken to UMC where he was later pronounced dead. NLVPD also said the driver of the Nissan remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. Impairment is not a suspected factor in this incident. The intersection of 5th ST and Centennial PKWY remained closed until late Monday night.       “Car accidents are on the rise in the Las Vegas area.
