On Sunday morning around 6:30 am, the North Las Vegas Police Department responded to reports of a single-car crash near Edna Crane Avenue and Camino Al Norte in northern Las Vegas. According to reports, the vehicle collided with a “Las Palmares” neighborhood sign before the female driver fled the scene with her two children, who were unrestrained in the vehicle when the crash occurred. The driver was identified by police officers and was later located and detained. Officers determined that the driver was impaired and arrested the 24-year-old woman. Her two children, one being a few months old and the other being just over one year old, had critical injuries and were transported to the trauma center at University Medical Center. Police say the children are now in stable condition. The driver has since been booked, and is currently facing 11 charges, including hit-and-run and child restraint violations. Investigators are still awaiting the results of a toxicology test. “Car accidents are on the rise in the Las Vegas area. At Edward M Bernstein and Associates, we take these accidents seriously.
