70-Year-Old Motorcycle Rider Killed After Crash in Las Vegas
Nevada Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal motorcycle crash that occurred at around 8:45 a.m. Monday morning on South Durango near the 215 off-ramp.
A Kia Sorento traveling southbound on Durango approaching the Roy Horn east off-ramp hit a Can-Am three-wheeled motorcycle traveling eastbound on the ramp after the motorcyclist ran a red light, witnesses told the NHP.
The 70-year-old motorcyclist was thrown from the bike as a result of the impact and pronounced dead at the scene.
Why the motorcyclist ran the red light is not clear, but NHP said that neither impairment nor speed appeared to be factors in the accident.
