83-Year-Old Woman Killed in Red Light Traffic Accident
The passenger of a truck that failed to stop at a red light on April 19th was killed in Henderson, Nevada on April 19th.
Police have confirmed that the incident occurred at the intersection of Volunteer Boulevard & Sun City Anthem Drive.
A Ford truck, driven by a man identified as Oscar Perez, failed to stop at the red light, hitting two vehicles that were waiting at the intersection for the light to turn green. It was later discovered that Perez was impaired at the time of the accident.
Inside the truck was 83-year-old Patti Perez. The elderly woman was rushed to Sunrise hospital where she died of her injuries the next day.
The driver, Oscar Perez, has been charged with driving with a revoked driver's license, DUI resulting in substantial bodily harm, and failure to decrease speed.
