Fatal Rollover Crash Under Investigation in Las Vegas Nevada
A fatal crash in the South Valley is under police investigation.
Officers responded on Tuesday evening around 4:42 p.m. near Dean Martin Drive and Wigwam Avenue, said Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Lt. Jeff Stuart.
According to Stuart, the rollover crash involved a 2015 Mercedes Benz E350.
In a media release, police said, "the driver failed to negotiate the curved part of the road and traveled over the raised center median, which separated the southbound and northbound travel lanes of Dean Martin Drive. The vehicle entered the northbound travel lanes, before leaving the roadway and colliding into a streetlight pole."
The driver of the Benz was an 83-year-old-man who was ejected from the vehicle. He was transported to University Medical Center, where he later died.
The man’s death marked the 33rd traffic-related fatality in 2020 for LVMPD.
