Hit-and-Run Leaves Pedestrian Injured in Central Las Vegas Valley
On the evening of January 3rd, a hit-and-run crash took place and is now under investigation by Las Vegas Metropolitan Police.
LVMPD reported that the crash occurred around 6:48 p.m. on E. Sahara Avenue west of S. Santa Rita Drive.
Police believe a Jeep Grand Cherokee was traveling west on Sahara Ave. when it struck a pedestrian who was walking in and out of traffic.
The vehicle did not remain on the scene and was last seen heading west on Sahara, according to police.
The pedestrian was taken to University Medical Center and has suffered substantial injuries.
LVMPD’s collision investigation section is investigating the crash. Police believe the suspect’s
vehicle to be a white 2014-18 Jeep Grand Cherokee. It would have missing chrome front grill
pieces and possible damage to the windshield.
