Las Vegas Truck Accident Leads to Pedestrian Injury and One Death
An accident on Saturday night in the west Las Vegas Valley led to the death of one pedestrian and injured another. It was the twenty-first traffic-related fatality in Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department's jurisdiction this year.
The crash occurred around 10:30 p.m. between South Durango Drive and White River Drive, south of West Twain Avenue, said Las Vegas Metropolitan Police.
A maroon 2018 Dodge Ram traveling northbound on Durango hit two pedestrians who were crossing outside the marked crosswalk on Durango. The right side of the vehicle struck a 43-year-old man, who was thrown into a desert area, while the left mirror hit a 37-year-old woman. The woman was taken to nearby University Medical Center and was stable on Sunday morning.
The man died at the scene due to blunt force injuries, said the Clark County Coroner's Office. The driver showed no signs of impairment.
