Nevada state prosecutors have not charged Las Vegas Raiders running back Josh Jacobs with a DUI after his single-car crash in the early morning of January 4th. After investigation, Jacobs has instead been charged with failure to exercise due care. The 22-year old NFL superstar sustained minor injuries after he crashed his vehicle in the McCarran International Airport connector tunnel around 4:45 a.m. When police arrived at the crash they said that Jacobs had a strong odor of alcohol on his breath, but passed a field sobriety test before being booked at the Clark County Detention Center for a DUI. After the blood-alcohol testing of Jacobs, results showed that he indeed was under the legal limit of 0.08% required to pursue a drunken driving charge. Jacobs told Metro Police that he believes that “he fell asleep prior to losing control of the vehicle.” The 2019 first-round pick for the Raiders made his first Pro Bowl team this season after rushing for 1,065 yards and 12 touchdowns.
