On Monday night in Las Vegas, a pedestrian was taken to a hospital in critical condition after being struck by a vehicle that fled the scene. Las Vegas police said that at around 10:00 pm, a light-colored SUV traveling eastbound on Cobblestone Ave near Rainbow Rd and Alta Dr was seen striking a pedestrian, who police also said was in the roadway and outside of a marked crosswalk. Without stopping, the driver of the SUV then sped off. The pedestrian was taken to University Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. Police are still looking for the SUV, which they say has sustained substantial damage to the left front of the vehicle.
