Police Investigating 4-Car Crash That Led to Life-Threatening Injury
Las Vegas Metropolitan Police are investigating a four-vehicle crash that left one person with life-threatening injuries.
The crash was first reported around 7:00 a.m. on the morning of February 24th near Warm Springs Road and Schirlls Street, east of Decatur Boulevard.
A trooper with the Nevada Highway Patrol spotted a white Lexus moving at a high rate of speed that ran a red light at the 215 Beltway off-ramp at Decatur.
The officer turned on their lights and began to follow the vehicle but disengaged due to extreme speed and public safety risk.
Shortly after losing sight of the Lexus, a bystander flagged down the patrol car to report the crash.
The white Lexus had been involved in a four-car crash and the driver had been ejected from the vehicle. Responding troopers began to provide first aid, and five people were taken to University Medical Center.
Initial reports from LVMPD detailed that one person was said to have suffered life-threating injuries. Also, the driver of the Lexus and a passenger from another vehicle were in critical condition.
The crash remains under investigation.
