Impairment Suspected in Single-Car Crash that Killed Driver in Las Vegas

According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, impairment is suspected in an incident in which a woman was killed and a child was injured in a single-vehicle collision in Las Vegas early Wednesday Morning. According to LVMPD, the crash happened just after 2 am near the intersection of East Charleston Boulevard and North Pecos Road. Reports say that a Cadillac sedan was traveling southbound on Pecos Road when it veered off the road, jumping a curb and smashing into a traffic pole in the intersection. The driver and her 4-year-old child were both transported to UMC, where the driver was later pronounced dead. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department says that impairment is suspected in this incident, but that it is still under investigation.       “Car accidents are on the rise in the Las Vegas area.
