A pedestrian was critically injured in Las Vegas Tuesday night near Tropicana Avenue and Koval Lane in a crash that’s being investigated by Las Vegas Metro police. According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, the crash was reported around 6:40 pm when the 19-year-old driver of a Ford F-150 rear-ended a Ford Expedition. Reportedly, The 45-year-old driver of the Expedition was slowing his vehicle to avoid hitting a pedestrian when he was struck from behind by the F-150 pickup truck, causing the Expedition to continue traveling forward, hitting the pedestrian. Both the pedestrian and the driver of the F-150 pickup were taken to University Medical Center. Police stated that the driver only sustained minor injuries. The eastbound lanes on Tropicana remained closed from Las Vegas Boulevard to Koval Lane while Las Vegas Metro Police investigated the incident. “Car accidents are on the rise in the Las Vegas area.
