Las Vegas Pedestrian Killed After Hit-and-Run Incident

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department is searching for a driver involved in an alleged hit-and-run crash on Saturday night that resulted in the death of a pedestrian. According to LVMPD, the incident occurred on July 30th, around 9:40 pm near West Charleston Boulevard west of Essex Drive. Reports say a male pedestrian walking northbound across Charleston outside of a marked crosswalk was struck by a dark colored sedan. LVMPD also stated that the sedan sped away from the scene without stopping to help the pedestrian, identified later by the Clark County Coroner’s Office as a 49-year-old Las Vegas man. He was taken to University Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead. The incident is still under investigation and the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department is asking anyone with information to call their crash investigation unit at 702-828-3786.       “Car accidents are on the rise in the Las Vegas area.
