Woman Died Two Days After Being Struck By Van in Las Vegas
On April 4, Las Vegas Police were investigating an accident involving a woman who was hit by a van east of the Strip.
The police were notified on April 6 that the woman had died from her injuries, making the incident the 28th traffic fatality for the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department in 2020.
The crash occurred around 7:30 p.m. on April 4 at the intersection of Flamingo Road and Koval Lane.
Police said the woman who died was 26 years old. The investigation showed she was crossing the intersection diagonally outside of the marked crosswalk. The driver of the 2018 Dodge Ram who hit her was a 71-year-old man. The van was traveling eastbound on Flamingo when the man struck the pedestrian.
According to LVMPD Lt. Miguel Ibarra, she was transported to a nearby hospital with critical injuries.
The man stayed at the scene and did not show signs of impairment.
